The decor and the atmosphere at Pazo's gives you the feel of an upscale, hip urban restaurant. We sat in the loft where noise isn't as much a factor as it seems to be downstairs. The food was unbelievably good - we had the chef choose the selections for us. The service was outstanding-we asked for a beer not in stock-they went down the street and bought it for us! Will go again and again!
Every time I walk into this restaurant I am amazed by the dcor and vibe this place gives off. It is certainly a hot spot in Baltimore. My second trip left me disappointed again. The food good is good but service has been disappointing and rude. This past trip we decided to stay late with drinks and they all but dragged you out being very abrupt and rude to patrons.
While the plates may be "small" they are quite tasty and filling. The dishes are tapas-like and appetizer priced. 2-3 each is is the equivalent of an entree in most places and a nice meal with room for dessert and actually decent priced meal for the quality of the food (I am from NYC). We were there on a Sunday evening, which was fairly empty (maybe 1/4 full). It porobably would have been quite noisy if busy.
The food is great but be warned these are small plates indeed. This place is perfect as a night with the girls etc. Do not go to PAZO because you are hungry or else you will either have to order many dishes (and pay a high bill) to get full or end up catching the nearest drive through on the way home. I love the ambiance and I would go back again.
Creative and modern. Small plate concept with the option to sample Chef selected items as "Group Menus". Sesame Crackers to start are a nice surprise. Duck and Lamb confit favorites.
