just had a terrific meal at jaleo . we had sauteed cauliflower with olives, walnuts and dates- it was delicious as was the bacon wrapped dates. they had a special dish of grilled chicken breast in a mole kind of sauce that was outstanding.
Good concept. Food is not as good as the original down in DC though..
I love this place. Especially for our girls-night-outs we always pick Jaleo since the service is great and the food is fantastic. A for food, location and service.
The nature of a meal with many small plates that aren't served in courses, makes service a challenge. In the dozens of visits, we intentionally avoid the rush, so service has been mostly favorable. (strategy-write down dish names) The dishes run from ordinary to sublime. Can't get enough Pulpo en su tinto. Have an addiction to Datils (spec wrapped dates). Never had the sangria, but sherries & the wine list are fav's. F24,D18,S19
Although the price of dining out for tapas get get expensive, it was worth it at Jaleo. The tapas were interesting, flavorful, and delicious - especially the shrimp and octopus dishes. The service was excellent, and the staff were very knowledgeable about both the dishes and the drink menu. I would go back more often if it wasn't so expensive.
