I went to the Dupont Circle and had disappointing time two days back. The place was cold. The hummus had a strange smell to it. The fish was well cooked but served with a lot of dry rice. The yogurt was too little. I think the food is not worth the money. Cheaper places like China Plate, Subway and i Hop are definitely better.
Not sure what makes it Persian, specifically, seems straight ahead generic middle-eastern, anywhere from Athens to Karachi. Good enough, lamb well seasoned, bread fresh if not especially noteworthy. Sides forgettable.
After reading the reviews here, I was disappointed. For this price, I guess I am supposed to be impressed that the food was edible. I found the counter staff less than helpful. Asking the difference between the sandwich, salad and the platter - "one is a sandwich, one is a salad, one is a platter. The combo is a combo"
Consistently good food for an okay price. Used to be better before it became a local "mini-chain".
Moby's is clean (in Clarendon, at any rate) and offers a tasty array of kabobs and certain other standard Middle Eastern dishes at very reasonable prices. You pick up your own orders at the cash register. Much cheaper than many fancier places in the area (partly because you don't have to tip!) and the food is just as good, if not better.
