David Sweeney Debuts Pop-Up Dinner at Sound Table

Chef David Sweeney was born in Augusta but grew up moving around the world in a military family, so it's no surprise he's comfortable working in others' kitchens - and he's bringing Atlanta another of his pop-up dining services to The Sound Table on Wednesday nights. Sweeney spent a lot of time in Germany but moved back to Georgia in 2007, bringing his passion for fresh and nutritious food with him. He operated the Old Fourth Ward restaurant Dynamic Dish from 2007 to 2010, and worked at both Restaurant Eugene and the Café at Cakes & Ale after Dynamic closed. Most recently Sweeney held culinary court at Octane Coffee in Grant Park on Sunday nights, a time slot since filled by Guy Wong. Sweeney's five dishes every week at Sound Table will range from $6-10 and feature Mediterranean and Middle Eastern accents. The month-long residency runs through Wednesday, February 19. Bartender Navarro Carr will create drinks to accompany Sweeney's dishes, while Karl Injex DJs the evenings (404-835-2534).

(UPDATE: Tonight's debut dinner service has been canceled and rescheduled to tomorrow - Thursday, January 30 - due to the winter storm; starting next week, it'll be a weekly Wednesday event.)
