Banish memories of this past week's chill and bask in the relatively balmy 50-degree weather? Sure, that… or just get some good food regardless of the weather!
On Saturday, January 11, TAP (pictured above) hosts its sixth annual Winter Luau event. Live music and drink specials are nice, but the eats? There's an entire hog being cooked for a traditional Polynesian pig roast - how's that for a taste of the tropics? Luau garb recommended, 6-11 PM (1180 Peachtree Rd.; 404-347-2220).
Slow Food Atlanta hosts its annual member meeting and potluck on Sunday, January 12, at Decatur's Kimball House. Topics of discussion will include highlights from 2013 and plans for the new year. Guy Wong, of Miso Izakaya and the recently shuttered Yum Bunz, will preview his forthcoming eatery Ton Ton Ramen with pop-up dinners every Sunday at Octane Coffee's Grant Park location. Starting Sunday, January 12, and going through March, the Ton Ton pop-up runs from 5 PM until the food sells out. The menu will feature ramen, buns, gyoza dumplings, rishi tea and beer specials (Octane Coffee, 437 Memorial Dr. SE; 404-815-9886).
