Austin Beer Week Opening Party
Austin Beer Week starts on Friday with a kickoff party at Craft Pride, the Texas-themed craft beer bar on Rainey Street. There will be live music, a kickoff toast and a live panel discussion featuring some of the most influential people in the Austin craft beer scene. Plus the Via 313 pizza trailer will be making a special pie (61 Rainey St., 6 PM).
Brunch at Hotel San Jose
The South Congress boutique hotel is well known for its bar (hint: micheladas and celebrity sightings), and now they’re offering brunch on select days too. Live jazz goes well with the $3 mimosas and house-cured Earl Grey lox (1316 S. Congress Ave., 10 AM-1 PM).
Banger’s Smoke Out Saturday
This month's party has been dubbed the “Hunter’s Moon Party.” The Rainey Street locale will be smoking a whole pig and serving it pulled with Tennessee-style barbecue sauce and a medley of winter squashes and roasted apples, plus sweet cornbread, greens and live music (79 Rainey St., 6 PM).
Anniversary Party at the Draught House
Congrats to the Draught House, which has officially been open for 45 years. Whether you remember when it was called the “Draft Horse” or are relatively new to town, come celebrate with a special beer list, food trucks and the Beer Olympics, which includes blind taste testing and keg lifts, among other events (4112 Medical Pkwy., 2-6 PM).
Green Corn Project Fundraiser
The festival boasts treats from some of the best restaurants in town like Epicerie, Fino and Olivia, as well as artisanal goods from Happy Hemp and Confituras. Housed on idyllic Boggy Creek Farm, it promises to be a great time ($35, 3414 Lyons Rd., 12-4 PM).
Fried Chicken and Beer Dinner at Lucy’s
As part of Austin Beer Week, the South location of Lucy’s is hosting a special dinner in collaboration with Hops & Grain Brewery. Enjoy the five courses, the beer and the weather on the outdoor patio. Tickets can be purchased here ($45, 2218 College Ave., 6:30 PM).
