After this coming weekend’s Texas Monthly Barbecue Festival and Meatopia, you might feel a little meat hangover and/or withdrawal. But don’t despair: your next opportunity to get meaty is right around the corner, at Austin’s first meatball festival on November 23. The celebration, which will be hosted at Winflo Osteria on West Sixth Street, will feature traditional and nontraditional meatballs from 15 Austin restaurants like Andiamo, Mulberry and Freedmen’s as well as live music. The critics’ choice panel of judges includes Texas Monthly’s Pat Sharpe, food writer Jessica Dupuy, Farm to Table’s John Lash and food photographer Jody Horton. Plus you’ll get to pick your favorite in the people’s choice vote. Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door (or you can go all-out with a special VIP access ticket, which is $300), and proceeds benefit Fresh Chefs Society and Citizen Generation.
