Bistro du Midi Adds Truffle-Licious Cocktail

Truffle this, truffle that, truffle here, truffle there. With the prized ingredient in season, it's popping up everywhere - and now, in a slightly more unusual form at Bistro du Midi. The Public Gardens-side bistro has just introduced La Truffe Noire, a potent and pricey ($33) cocktail that combines Michter’s 10-year bourbon and Carpano Antica with black truffle-infused sweet vermouth, house made black truffle syrup, a white truffle honey rim and a bourbon and white truffle honey-pickled black truffle garnish. (Wow, that's a mouthful. Of truffle.) The intense drink, which can be shared, sounds like it will satisfy even the most fanatical fungi lover - and whet appetites for chef Robert Sisca's upcoming Winter Black Truffle feast at the James Beard House on December 9. Sorry, that dinner's sold out. We'll have to slake our truffle temptations with this (617-426-7878).
