Chefs Team Up For Flavorful Fund-raiser

Food-driven fund-raisers are a dime a dozen. But many of them are pretty impersonal - a massive banquet held in an anonymous ballroom, or food and wine samples doled out in an exhibition hall teeming with ticketholders. The upcoming Flavors of Boston, on the other hand, will offer a much more intimate audience with chefs. The Friday, September 20 benefit for the American Liver Foundation of New England will seat diners at one of several tables hosted by individual chefs, like Josh Ziskin (pictured) of romantic northern Italian restaurant La Morra, new culinary director Mark Allen of Towne Stove & Spirits, and head toques from Citizen Public House & Oyster Bar, Sweet Basil, Turner Fisheries and more. Each will prepare a distinct multicourse dinner tableside throughout the evening, which includes a program hosted by WCVB news personality Jim Lokay, live and silent auctions and dancing. This unique dinner doesn't come cheap: tickets are $250 and include the seat at dinner plus entry to a cocktail reception and dessert party. Scoop one up here.
