Davio's Opens Lynnfield Location, Readies NYC

When it comes to homecomings, some of us are just happy to be in shape for the occasional school reunion. But this Thursday, August 22, owner Steve DiFillippo opens the newest location of Davio's, his Hub-based line of elevated Italian restaurants, in his hometown of Lynnfield. DiFillippo says the Boston suburb is where he cut his teeth in the kitchen, learning family recipes from his grandmother after football practice. The Lynnfield location will sprawl over 9,000 square feet (including its open kitchen and cooking demo area) in the MarketStreet complex, an outdoor shopping-dining destination. It will serve up signature spring rolls, pizzas and pasta (like gnocchi with mushroom and white truffle oil, pictured) made using La Monferrina, a nifty imported kitchen tool that cuts the pastas into all shapes from one machine. This marks the second major addition to the Davio's brand within mere months: Davio's Cucina, a casual concept outlet at The Street in Chestnut Hill, just opened in June. And there's another on the way: this fall the 120-seat Davio's Manhattan will open with a smaller, seasonal menu between East 44th and 45th Street & Lexington, across from Grand Central Station.
