Late night pizza? Yes, please. Especially when it's for a good food-related cause. This Thursday, August 22, Island Creek Oyster Bar will trade bivalves for breadsticks from 11 PM-1 AM. Chef Jeremy Sewall will team up with pal Michael Harlan Turkell, the photographer behind Sewall's upcoming cookbook, and sling creative pizza pies: think toppings like smoked salmon from Sewall, and a "Banh Mizza" from Turkell. They'll also serve up antipasti plates, breadsticks and desserts, with proceeds benefiting the Island Creek Oyster Foundation: a nonprofit that supports international projects to build sustainable aquaculture and support economic self-sufficiency in under-resourced regions. If you're still craving seafood, don't worry. Some Island Creek signatures, like a build-your-own fried oyster, will still be offered.
