Reel Chefs and Salvatore's Bring Christmas in October

Considering it's the first day of October, it's a little early to be thinking about Christmas. Every time we pass yet another premature holiday display in a department store, we can't help but cringe. (Seriously, retailers. Next year, give the gift of mercy.) But we're willing to make a single exception (just one!) for the new installment of Reel Chefs, Revere Hotel's pairing of movie screenings with cinematically-inspired guest chef menus. This Friday, October 4 at 7 PM, the hotel's Theater 1 will host chef Greg Weinstock of Salvatore's and a screening of A Christmas Story, that timeless tale of a boy, his BB gun and a really hideous leg-shaped lamp. Weinstock's three-course meal will feature You’ll Shoot Your Eye Out Ceviche with bamboo shoot and baby shrimp, Christmas Orange Duck Confit with orange glaze, bok choy, citrus pork and egg fried rice, and a Double Dog Dare Brownie Sundae, featuring a double fudge brownie with chocolate ice cream and hot fudge. Sounds delish, but you're probably still wondering: why so early with the Santa supper? Revere Hotel has teamed with the nearby Citi Performing Arts Center to offer discounts for the upcoming production of A Christmas Story, The Musical.
