'Top Chef' Champ Kristen Kish Leaving MentonBy Michael Endelman
February 18, 2014
Top Chef Season 10 winner Kristen Kish (and one our original 30 Under 30 grads) announced today that she's leaving her chef de cuisine post at Menton, the high-end Fort Point restaurant from local empire builder Barbara Lynch. Kish, who became chef de cuisine at Menton in June 2013, says she's leaving to "pursue other opportunities." She'll be replaced by Scott Jones, who now works at Lynch's No. 9 Park. From the tone of the press release and from Kish's Tweets this afternoon, where she called Lynch a "true friend and a mentor," this split doesn't seem acrimonious. Our prediction? Kish, who is now a nationally-known figure after her reality TV victory, probably has the interest, talent and enough backing to start up her own place from scratch.
