This Week's Dining Deals and Events: November 4-7By Farah Fleurima
November 4, 2013
This week in Dallas, we’re treated to seasonal fare, vino-tastic meals, a chef’s fried chicken special and mustache-tingling treats.
In honor of the facial hair/men’s health tribute, Movember Monday will reign supreme all month long at Del Frisco’s Grille. Flash your ‘stache (real or fake), and the restaurant will grant you a free appetizer (972-807-6152).
NOSH's Chef’s Fried Chicken Monday night special has received a lot of buzz. If crispy fried bird doesn’t tantalize enough, the dish comes with a side of all-day happy hour. That means a selection of $6 wine, $5 cocktails and imported beers and $4 domestics (214-528-9400).
Chef Kent Rathbun’s Uptown fine-dining establishment Abacus is hosting Darioush Winery for a pairing dinner. The evening will open with appetizers such as bay scallops and pork jowl rillettes, then entrées including smoked pheasant breast, lamb prepared two ways and a pear-roquefort turnover, all complemented by glasses of Darioush vino. Dinner is $175 per person, excluding tax and tip, and starts at 6:30 PM (214-520-0151).
Hendrick’s Gin invites mixologists-in-the-making to stir up some fun. The spirits label is hosting another of its hands-on Cocktail Academy classes, where guests can learn how to mix up beverages that accentuate the liquor’s cucumber and rose notes. Regional brand ambassador Kris von Dopek will lead the two 90-minute courses, kicking off at 6 and 8:30 PM at Uptown’s Standard Pour. In addition to learning some fierce drink-slinging skills, the free event will also feature light bites and a gift bag. Reserve a spot here.
