Siduri Winery Dinner at Abacus
The newly James Beard-nominated restaurant welcomes the California winemaker for a four-course pairing dinner led by proprietor Dianna Lee. The kitchen has concocted dishes such as roasted goat vindaloo and lardo-wrapped pheasant roulade to match Siduri’s pinots. Reservations required by calling 214-520-0151 ($120 per person plus tax and 20 percent gratuity).
Brisket and Zinfandel at Wineposte
Pecan Lodge is bringing its famed brisket to the Design District wine bar for a cool pairing event at 6:30 PM. The $30 entry gets you a half-pound of brisket and six zins to sample.
Beer Dinner at Cook Hall
The gastropub in the W Hotel (pictured) is hosting For The Love of Beer, a five-course pairing meal spotlighting large-format beers by Blue Moon and Goose Island among other breweries ($55; call 214-397-4111 to reserve).
Abita Beer Dinner at Bread Winners
The Uptown outpost of the local mini-chain has crafted a five-course meal with each entree paired with Louisiana’s own Abita beer. The label’s brewmaster, Leo Basille, will lead the 6 PM event with tasting notes ($77 per person; reservations required at 214-754-4940).
Barleywine & Swine at Flying Saucer Fort Worth
Flying Saucer is making a strong case for heading west this Saturday with the return of this event, usually called the Annual Barleywine Experience. Sample 15 barleywines while the tavern roasts a whole hog and serves complimentary appetizers from noon to 5 PM for your culinary enjoyment (free admission; must be 21 and over).
18th Anniversary at Flying Saucer Addison
If you hesitate to venture west but still crave some Flying Saucer love, head to the afternoon 18th anniversary party at the Addison location. Thirteen special beers will be released in limited supply all afternoon, and food specials and birthday cake will be available to all revelers.
Tequila Barrel-Aged Beers at Goodfriend
The East Dallas beer garden is celebrating the unveiling of Lakewood Brewing Co. beers aged for nine months in Puro Verde tequila barrels, including one version flavored with prickly pear and another infused with ancho chilies - Goodfriend will even pair these with a flight of Puro Verde. The event starts at noon, with live local bands providing the tunes.
