Line & Lariat, Hotel Icon
The Hotel: The epitome of refined luxury, the boutique hotel in the Downtown Historic District has a rich past (the bank building debuted in 1912) and sophisticated yet easy vibe, which extends to the first-floor restaurant and bar area.
The Restaurant: A menu of contemporary Texas cuisine showcases dishes like filet mignon with onion rajas, chile-marinated grilled pork tenderloin and blackened salmon with roasted tomato cream.
Noe Grill, Omni Houston Hotel
The Hotel: The urban oasis is situated on 13 parklike acres in the Galleria (complete with swans that live on the premises).
The Restaurant: The menu's focus is sustainable, globally inspired cuisine with Pan-Asian flair, including curried lobster carbonara and Asian pork-belly tacos.

The Restaurant: Executive chef Patrick Havard rolls out an entirely new menu later this month with a focus on regionally inspired comfort food, including Galveston Bay oysters, orange-scented Texas redfish and a barbecue meatloaf melt.
Market Street Kitchen and Bar, Hyatt Market Street, The Woodlands
The Hotel: With just 70 rooms, this pint-size property is big on style and is just steps from the bustling Market Street shopping district, Waterway and Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion.
The Restaurant: The playful, modern American menu continues to evolve under newly appointed executive chef Andrew Kramer. Sharable fare includes shrimp and grits and smoked Gouda pimento. Save room for the ancho-spiced chocolate cake.
Quattro, Four Seasons Houston
The Hotel: The central Downtown location provides easy access to the theater district.
The Restaurant: The Italian name is apropos, and means "four" (breakfast, lunch, dinner and a lively bar). We recommend starting with the beef carpaccio followed by braised, boneless short ribs.
Ara, Royal Sonesta Hotel
The Hotel: The first Royal Sonesta in Texas boasts a just-completed $30 million makeover. The Uptown property is near the famed Galleria and the shops and restaurants on ritzy Post Oak Boulevard.
The Restaurant: The recently rebranded restaurant offers a daily global express lunch and prix fixe dinner option ($33 with optional $5 wine pairings).
