Jer-Ne in Marina del Rey Becoming Cast & Plow

It's not often top of mind except for special occasions and holiday brunches, but Jer-Ne, the longstanding restaurant at the Ritz-Carlton in Marina del Rey, is undergoing a complete, and some might argue necessary, revamp right now. The restaurant has been moved to a temporary space inside the hotel so a new concept, Cast & Plow, can open in its former digs, where Jer-Ne chef Umit Kaygusuz will serve small plates of seasonal dishes made with locally-sourced and humanely-grown meats, sustainable seafood and farmer's market goods. To drink, local wines, spirits distilled in-house and other artisanal quaffs will be available. The newly-designed space will cover all the trends, too: communal tables, fire pits, comfortable and relaxed yet still the Ritz. Look for Cast & Plow in late January, but until then, Jer-Ne is still serving daily, including weekend brunches, overlooking the marina and hotel pool.
