Monday, February 10
Not only can you get inexpensive, seasonal fare courtesy of chef Warren Schwartz at Warren's Blackboard in North Hollywood, now there's an even more budget-friendly prix fixe menu option. The two-course lunch menu is only $15 and dinner's three-courser is $35 - both available daily. The only exception is Valentine's Day and February 15, when a special dinner for $55 per person will be offered (4222 Vineland Ave.; 818-255-7290).

Tuesday, February 11
Piero Selvaggio wants everyone to get in a Valentine's Day mood with Festa di San Valentino dishes at Valentino this week. Specials will pop up on the regular menu starting today, culminating in a five-course feast on Friday. Look for a la carte options like vitello tonnato with Sardinian bottarga, lobster salad with blood orange dressing, and crabmeat cannelloni with crustacean ragu. The V-day prix fixe is $90 per person with wine pairings for $50 extra (3115 Pico Blvd.; 310-829-4313).

Wednesday, February 12
Like most holidays, The Village Bakery and Cafe has adorable cookies, cakes and pies for Valentine's Day available all week. You can even order them custom-made, with words of your choice iced on the top. For a little DIY magic, there's a "Daddy and Me" cookie decorating party tonight from 5-6 PM, which includes cookies, decorations, frosting, kid-friendly tools and instruction. The $40 price tag includes sandwiches and class for two. Call to reserve a spot (3119 Los Feliz Blvd.; 323-662-8600).

Thursday, February 13
SAAM at The Bazaar has fantastic white truffle menus when the delicacy is in season, and now it introduces a special black truffle menu. The playful and inventive 18-course menu is only available Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings in the semi-private dining room beginning today through March 15. $250 per person (465 S. La Cienega Blvd.; 310-246-5555).

Friday, February 14
You know what today is - romance, flowers and full dining rooms everywhere. If you’re looking for something a little untraditional, here’s a whole list of fun date ideas for you Valentine’s Day nonconformists. For everyone else, you might still get lucky with an early or late table at one of these great spots.

Saturday, February 15
And to continue the sweet deals through the weekend - who said romance has to end after Valentine's Day - check out the special holiday-themed afternoon tea at Parq Bar at the Montage Beverly Hills. The menu includes the hotel's signature Eve's Rose Petals tea blend, finger sandwiches, raspberry Linzer cookies, chocolate-dipped lemon shortbread hearts, strawberry champagne cream tart, scones and more. There's extra Champagne for adults, and Nutella sandwiches and sparkling mocktails for the under-21 set. Prices start at $65 for adults and $38 for kids. Served Wednesday through Sunday, February 12-16, from 11 AM-3 PM (225 N. Canon Dr.; 310-499-4199).

Sunday, February 16
It's true: sometimes a craving for guacamole and uni hits pretty early on the weekends. Thankfully Petty Cash Taqueria now does lunch on Sundays, which means the regular menu, plus specials like huevos rancheros and huevos con chorizo, are now available starting at noon (7360 Beverly Blvd.; 323-933-5300).
