David Kinch, chef and owner of Manresa in Los Gatos, and Rustic Canyon's Jeremy Fox share the same philosophy on cooking: keep it fresh, hyper-local and seasonal. The Northern Californian, heralded for his use of produce and elegant cooking style, was a mentor for Fox before he landed in Southern California. So it makes sense that the two will collaborate on a five-course menu at the Santa Monica restaurant for one night only, Monday, November 11, in honor of Kinch's new cookbook, Manresa: An Edible Reflection. The first four courses will feature a dish from the book with a complementary dish from Fox, and dessert from Manresa's pastry chef, Stephanie Prida. Dinner is $95 per person, with cookbooks available for purchase (you can probably coax the chef into signing one or two). Seatings are between 6 and 6:45 PM and 8 and 8:45 PM.
