Tom Bergin's Lives On! Reopening in December

You knew someone would step up to the plate to save Tom Bergin's. They'd have to - we can't just let the House of Irish Coffee go by the wayside. After the sudden shutter of the historic bar, which has been known for whiskey, Irish charm and shamrocks on the walls since 1936, a regular known only as "Derek" is the new Tom Bergin's proprietor. According to Eater, he'll bring on one of the former owners as a consultant, but not Warner Ebbink or Brandon Boudet, who took over the joint, went through two years of upgrades and renovations, changed the menu and then closed it a year later. The interior will most likely remain exactly the same, but the menu may take a turn toward the past. Look for a new Tom Bergin's on December 1.
