From a new canal-front Mediterranean restaurant to a cozy comfort-food hangout, here are 10 restaurants heating up the dining scene now in Miami.

  • Miam Café & Boutique

    Why It's Hot: Located inside Wynwood's iconic zebra-striped building, this​ industrial-style bistro serves carb-heavy American eats like grilled cheese and turkey clubs made with locally sourced ingredients. 
    Must-Order: Veggie quiche made with mushrooms, tomatoes, spinach and squash ($7.50).
    Insider Tip: Currently it's only open from 9 AM-5 PM, but there's a wine and cheese happy hour in the works.

  • Vintro Kitchen

    Why It's Hot: Inside Miami Beach's Vintro Hotel, this posh Mediterranean eatery boasts antique Cuban tile floors, massive 30-ft. ceilings and solid farm-to-table dishes​.
    Must-Order: Lamb burger with goat cheese and caramelized onions ($15).
    Insider Tip: Park it outside on the pretty terrace overlooking the Collins Canal.

  • L'echon Brasserie

    Why It's Hot: The Pubbelly Boys' latest venture offers family-style French fare in a modern space with an oceanfront outdoor bar.

    Insider Tip: The recently launched weekday happy hour (at the bar and courtyard) boasts $6 bubbly and $2 oysters. 

  • Fork & Balls

    Why It's Hot: Inside a massive industrial-style warehouse, this Wynwood newcomer serves contemporary global cuisine with a soon-to-come test kitchen for classes and wine tastings.
    Must-Order: Scallops, plus sweetbreads made with purple cauliflower paint, Licor 43 and vanilla cotton candy ($36).
    Insider Tip: An elaborate 18-course menu with exclusive dishes is offered Thursday-Saturday (one seating per evening) at a 24-seat communal table ($110-$160 per person).

  • Morimoto South Beach

    Why It's Hot: Iron Chef Masaharu Morimoto helms the kitchen at this amber-lit SoBe post inside the Shelborne Wyndham Grand South Beach, featuring indoor/outdoor seating and large sushi bar.
    Must-Order: Omakase multicourse tasting menu full of signature sushi, sashimi and Japanese-style offerings (prices vary).
    Insider Tip: Valet is chaotic, so it's best to search for parking on the street or at a nearby garage.

  • Oolite Restaurant and Bar
