Ultimate Guide for the Super Bowl XLVIII

By Carissa Chesanek
January 27, 2014

It's almost time for Seattle to take on Denver during Super Bowl 2014, and we know how to celebrate: beer, wings and cabanas. Here are eight ways to celebrate the big game in Miami.

  • Over The Counter

This rustic Brickell space offers plenty of take out (and delivery) items that will fill you up during the game. Enjoy items like charred eggplant dip with grilled bread (a tray for 10 people $20), Thai chicken wings served with papaya cabbage slaw (25 wings for $50) and crispy taquitos stuffed with chipotle chicken (25 for $50). All orders need to be placed three days in advance.

    1250 South Miami Ave.; 305-374-4612

  • Fontainebleau Miami Beach

Set up shop in your own private cabana with personal 32-in. flatscreen and excellent view of the hotel’s pool. You’ll also be able to pick from several different bundles too, like the Safety Package for $200 that features a pitcher of ginger fizz with whiskey and unlimited chips and salsa - of course, if you're really hungry there's always the option of ordering right off Michael Mina 74‘s menu.

    4441 Collins Ave.; 305-538-2000

  • South Shore at The James Royal Palm

Hit up this relaxed Caribbean-style airy space sitting next to the hotel's swanky pool, and mingle with South Beach's finest while watching the game. You'll also get to enjoy its all-you-can-eat pre game-type grub like as hoagies, wings and loaded nachos ($35 per person), alongside several different beer buckets of your choice ($20).

    1545 Collins Ave.; 305-604-5700

  • Brother Jimmy’s Barbecue Miami

For $23 per person, this barbecue joint can cater your entire football party with items like three pounds of rib tips and 64 ounces of potato slaw and barbecue beans. Of course, there’s also the 28 pieces of warm cornbread too that will be sure to please just about anybody - no matter what team they’re rooting for.

    900 South Miami Ave.; 786-360-3650

  • Haven

Celebrate the Super Bowl two nights in a row when arriving to this trippy lounge a day early for its Destination Saturday Party with tasty plates like five-spice pork belly pot-stickers with water chestnut ($11) and tater tots with Maytag bleu cheese ($9). Then come game day, enjoy watching the Super Bowl projected on the lounge's screen-lined walls while downing chicken wings and Brooklyn Lager.

    1237 Lincoln Rd.; 305-987-8885

  • Pizza Bar

If pizza is what you're craving for on game day, then be sure to order the monster cheesy slices this pie joint is known for. You’ll enjoy saving 15% off when you order online and can get items like the Extra Point extra large pizza with any topping of your choice and eight of its warm and toasty garlic knots ($30).

    1627 Collins Ave.; 305-672-6880

  • Biscayne Tavern

This Downtown spot is offering an official wing bar for game day ($25 per person) to go along with its infamous cold craft beer selections. Football-loving diners will enjoy trying wings of all flavors including Korean, dynamite, honey mustard and spicy barbecue, along with other side items like smoked brisket chili and tomato red onion salad.

    146 Biscayne Blvd.; 305-307-8300

  • Hyde Beach at SLS Hotel South Beach

Hang outside by this poolside lounge while viewing the game on two jumbo screens and devouring special game day-inspired dishes like jumbo lollipop wings ($24 for 12) made with buffalo glaze and frito chili pie ($12) with sausage and white bean chili. For dessert, there are ice cream sandwiches ($5 for 2) stuffed with either pistachio or dulce de leche and gooey chocolate chip cookies ($1 each).
