Weekend Planner: Food Trucks and Live Cooking Demos

From 5:30 PM-10 PM Palmetto Bay Village will host the first Food Truck Friday of the new year. Enjoy trying dishes from 20 local food trucks including Cheeseburger Baby, Food Junkies and Saucy ‘Stache. There is no entrance fee to get in (for more information, head here).
On January 4, venture to Bloomingdale’s Aventura for a live cooking demonstration from 1 PM-2 PM. Sample various Greek appetizers that will be made onsite and take home recipes created by chef Demetrios Pyliotis from South Beach’s Poseidon Greek Restaurant. The event is free and open to the public (305-534-4434).
The Backyard Bar in West Palm Beach hosts its Sunday Jazz Brunch from 10:30 AM-3 PM. Diners can enjoy unlimited mimosas or Bloody Marys ($12) to pair with a la carte dishes like feta and spinach omelet for $10 and cinnamon raisin French toast with maple syrup for $10.50 (561-339-2444).
