"The Orange Bowl Impact & Excellence Awards - A Taste of South Florida" hits Broward County Convention Center on May 30. Local chefs like Michael Schwartz and Paula DaSilva whip up tasting plates for guests and judges to compete for the title of best chef/restaurant. Tickets are $85 per person - get them here.
EDGE Steak & Bar (pictured) hosts "Lamb Down Under on May 31" from 7-9 PM. Five local chefs including Bradley Kilgore of J&G Grill and Danny Grant of 1826 Restaurant & Lounge will prepare Australian lamb tasting plates, which will be paired with various Aussie vinos and craft beer by BREW FIU. Tickets are $55 per person and can be bought here.
Pinecrest Gardens holds its weekly farmers market on June 1 from 9 AM-2 PM. Herbs, tropical fruit, produce and local honey are all sold onsite, along with freshly made fruit smoothies and guacamole. There is no fee to get in and parking is free. More information here.
