A Seat for the Stanley Cup: Where to Watch the Rangers and Kings in NYC

By Billy Lyons
June 5, 2014

With one game down, the battle between New York and Los Angeles for hockey supremacy has fans heated - in a good way. From thematic shot specials to two-for-one drink deals, here's a look at where you can net some sweet drinks while cheering for the boys in blue - or where you might want to hang out if you're a (bold) Kings fan in town for the championship.

Bounce Sporting Club: The high-energy sports club will have banana Jameson shots and signature cocktails on hand for New Yorkers to enjoy throughout the finals. If you feel like dancing when a goal is scored, the club is hosting day-to-night weekend parties, and has plenty of food available in case the game goes into overtime again (212-675-8007).

Croxley Ale House Brooklyn: Solid bar food and an exceptionally large beer list make this one of the most popular sports bars in Williamsburg and a must for Rangers games. Saturday's game special includes wings starting at 10 cents each, while other nights offer deals on food and brew combos as well (718-387-4290).

The Flying Puck: This hockey bar near Madison Square Garden is the perfect spot to pre-game if you've got tickets or perhaps find others who have extras. The bar offers a selection of themed shot specials and plenty of beer, and the diehard-hockey atmosphere might even make a Kings fan feel comfortable enough to sport a jersey (212-736-5353).

Kelly's Sports Bar: Though officially a Buffalo Sabres bar, Kelly's will be supporting its Empire State brethren with half-priced drafts and well drinks from 12 to 7 PM (212-388-1464).

Leave Rochelle Out of It: The Lower East Side whiskey bar, which has over 150 options available, is featuring $5 select shots and pints of Rebel IPA during the chase for Lord Stanley's cup (212-673-2400).

Mustang Harry's: Offering a free shot every time the Rangers score, this bar near the world's most famous arena is also featuring happy-hour pricing on all game days (212-268-8930).

Rare Bar & Grill: Both the Murray Hill and Chelsea locations of this casual burger-and-beer joint are showcasing the games on their respective rooftop bars. The restaurant also created a special cocktail called the Final View, made with vodka, elderflower liqueur, and fresh fruit for the series (212-807-7273/212-481-1999).

Slattery's Midtown Pub: During weekend games, Slattery's offers two-for-one drinks to all Rangers fans fans dressed in the team's gear. The bar will have plenty of specials during weekdays (like $4 brews) as well as all-day happy-hour pricing on the weekends (212-683-6444).

Whiskey Park: Though we might not be able to skate in Central Park anymore, we can head to this nearby lounge to get our fix of the ice. The lounge is offering complimentary Rangers-themed shots every the team wins, and will be broadcasting the games with the sound on so everyone can hear the announcers scream when someone scores (212-307-9222).

Windy City Ale House: Don't let the name fool you - this Bay Ridge bar overflows with Rangers fans, and is offering $10 pitchers of Budweiser and $15 pitchers of Goose Island during the chase for the Cup (718-630-5700).
