First Look: North River

Culinary Institute of America graduates Colby and Sarah Zito's new East Village American eatery North River is accepting dinner reservations starting at 5 PM tonight. The restaurant, named after a historical name for the Hudson River, offers up American comfort dishes like a cheeseburger with pickle mayonnaise and shrimp and grits. Momofuku Ko alum Adam Starowicz is the chef. The dining room contains elements of the Victorian age, with antique brass and wainscoting throughout the white-washed brick dining room. For more info, head to the slideshow below.

    The restaurant is owned by the husband and wife team of Colby and Sarah Zito, who remodeled the space with a brass chandelier wood paneling to create the feeling of a warm home for diners.

    The short but curated cocktail list features drinks like the Wings of Wax (gin, honey, lemon, orange, Campari) and a traditional bourbon milk punk are available at the bar.
