Bastille Day is July 14th, but the party starts today. Let your Francophile colors fly by celebrating at one of these fab fetes. Bon appétit!
Cercle Rouge: On July 11, Cercle Rouge will kick off their Bastille Week Block party starting at noon, and running throughout the evening. The entire Forgeois Group restaurants; Clarkson, Le Singe Vert, Jules Bistro, Café Noir, Cercle Rouge and Bar Tabac will celebrate throughout the week with Pétanque tournaments, live music, local vendors and tres Frenchie food and drink. Casimir & Co: The owners will transform their homey bistro to a Bastille Day extravaganza (beret-sporting servers included). Menu items, like escargot and steak tartare will be served with homemade frites. You can get your French festivities on today through July 14th.
Millesime Restaurant: For an ultra-posh Bastille Day, head to the Millesime at the Carlton hotel - Laurent Manrique’s French seafood brasserie. A family-style Bastille Week menu will be available from Tuesday, July 9th until Saturday, July 13th, where guests can enjoy a shared dinner experience, as the French do during the holiday, leading up to France’s Independence Day on Sunday, July 14th - the Bastille Day bottomless punch brunch. Bottoms up, mon amis!
Tour de France: This group of French restaurants will fête French independence with a Bastille Day Barbecue on Sunday July 14. The three-course family-style dinner serves four to six people and includes a roast suckling pig with "pignic" favorites: chilled summer soup, French potato salad, ratatouille of summer vegetables, “barbecued” fresh cranberry beans, farm fresh corn on the cob, skillet cornbread and patriotic desserts for $210. Daniel Boulud’s Empire: Boulud's eateries will go all out for the holiday. Here’s the rundown how DB does Independence Day: DBGB will be doing a special red, white and blue Sunday. For dishes, there’s the coq au vin, aioli de homard and gateau basque at Bar Boulud, grilled escargot en cocotte at DB Bistro Moderne, and boudin basque at DBGB. And for something sweet, Épicerie Boulud will craft red, white, and blue macaroons.
