November 11, 2013

Monday, November 11
Dig Jameson Whiskey…and Bob Dylan? The annual Dylan Fest is returning this year at the Bowery Ballroom on the LES, and tonight’s show has a few tickets left (benefiting Sweet Relief). While music is the main attraction, with Patrick Carney of The Black Keys, Jesse Malin and Amanda Shires (to name just a few from the massive lineup), the booze is a draw, too. Jameson Irish Whiskey is a sponsor, so expect an abundance of those gorgeous brown cocktails, including a Black & Stormy (Jameson Black Barrel and ginger beer). Get more info and snag a ticket here.

Tuesday, November 12
The Farm on Adderley, an early farm-to-tabler in Ditmas Park, is hosting a Spirits Dinner on Tuesday at 7:30 PM. The five-course meal will be paired with tipples from the Finger Lakes Distilling, whose founder Brian McKenzie will share his approach to distilling a variety of liquors based on local ingredients. Tickets are $80 per person and can be purchased here

Wednesday, November 13
If you haven't ever trekked to a class at the 92nd Street Y, you’re missing out. The massive building on the Upper East Side is chock-full of food and drink events, and this Wednesday should not disappoint. The Wines of Spain, Portugal and Italy class is taught by Stefani Jackenthal, who wrote Wanderlust Wining!, about her travels through wine regions across the U.S. Expect to leave the class knowing how to identify vino from these regions and pair each wine with foods. Class starts at 7 PM and costs $40. Tickets here.

Thursday, November 14
Join the CityMeals Young Professions Committee this Thursday at HILO in the MePa. For $30 (or $40 at the door), you can eat, drink and help to feed the homebound elderly of New York City. If you’re going to be out anyway, why not spend that money on a good cause? Get your tickets and good karma here

Friday, November 15
Friday is synonymous with happy hour, and The Jeffrey has a killer one to match its beer selection. Running from 11 AM to 7 PM, and late night from 11PM to 1AM, it offers $5 select draft (craft) beers, $5 wines on tap (four very nice selections) and $5 well drinks. And if you really love your cocktails, visit Jacob in the next-door lounge, who’ll will whip up a badass boozy beverage for you (212-355-2337).
