Openings Around the U.S.: White in DC, More

Today in our new weekly column we take a look at some of the biggest restaurant openings around the country from the nation's biggest name chefs. And away we go!

In LA, Walter and Margarita Manzke and business partner, restaurateur Bill Chait, have begun previewing their new project Republique, this week (official opening is Monday). Check out our early first look here.

Over in DC, NYC-based "big deal" chef Michael White and his Altamarea Group have opened an outpost of the NYC hotspot Osteria Morini in the up-and-coming Navy Yard neighborhood. Our first look even peeks inside the kitchen.

On Monday, Philly chef Marc Vetri opened his newest eatery, Osteria, just outside the city in Moorestown, NJ. The restaurant offers updated takes on Italian classics. Check out the space here.

Just up the coast in NYC, M.Wells Steakhouse debuted on Friday night in Long Island City, Queens. The steakhouse hails from the same team who ran the famed and now shuttered M. Wells (le original) in the same nabe. We dispatched writer Billy Lyons to check out the restaurant on its much-anticipated opening day; see his take here.
