Openings Around the U.S.: Sushi Seki in NYC, More

This week's big openings include a NYC pitmaster who has decamped to LA and a Gotham sushi master who finally has a more convenient spot in Chelsea (NYC). Read on for more of this week's most notable new restaurants.

    Los Angeles: POT and Roadhouse LA

    After working at Hill County and Fatty 'Cue in New York City, pitmaster Robbie Riceter is bringing his Asian-American BBQ style smoked meats to Roadhouse LA, a collaboration with the Umami Group located at the Hollywood Improv. Read more about it here.

    Pot Bar in the Line Hotel opened on Monday, the cocktail component of the Roy Choi restaurant that will open soon. Choi has enlisted barman Matt Biancaniello to construct the drink menu. According to Choi's Tweets, that means "Fuzzy Navels from the farmers market and Long Islands on tap."

    Chicago: Kinmont and Celeste

    The team behind some of the city's sexiest rooms has just opened Kinmont, a seafood restaurant specializing in sustainable options. Read about the space and the food here

  • Boston: Alden & Harlow

  • New York City: Bodega Negra and River Cafe

    Bodgea Negra, the UK import, is bringing pan-cultural Mexican party food (like Peking duck tacos) to a slick space inside the Dream Downtown hotel in Chelsea. Learn more here.

    And, the legendary River Cafe in Brooklyn reopened after being closed for 15 months due to Hurricane Sandy this week.
