“Realistically, we are looking at the end of January,” Stephanie Reitano told us yesterday, speaking about the forthcoming fifth location for local gelateria Capogiro (where you can also get an absurdly rich Italian drinking chocolate). As first reported by The Insider, Reitano and husband John are going into the space at 233 Chestnut Street, just up the block from Amada.

Construction hasn’t yet begun on the former office supply store - the Reitanos are waiting on neighborhood approval - but when it does they’re planning decor that highlights the historic building’s best features. The Insider also reports that the liquor license from University City’s Capogiro will be relocated here, adding a full bar to a menu of gelato and also wood-oven savory food. More details are promised soon.

Midtown Village is also getting a new bar, though this one’s not due to open until spring. Charlie Was a Sinner is the name Nicole Marquis of HipCityVeg has given to the vegan bar she’s planning in partnership with real estate developer Allan Domb. It’s going into the long-vacant space at 131 S. 13th Street, next to Vintage wine bar (on the other side is Danny’s sex shop, a lone holdout from the strip’s sketchier days). According to Foobooz, the bar will serve veggie- and juice-filled cocktails and an all-vegetable food menu.
