Heirloom Tomato Wine Dinner at Bar Ferdinand

Prime tomato season is finally here, and chef David Ansill is taking advantage of the heirloom bounty of Kensington’s Hood Rich Farms with a wine pairing dinner at Bar Ferdinand. On Thursday, August 29, farmer Jack Goldenberg will be at the the Northern Liberties tapas bar from 7-10 PM, during which time you can reserve a seat to partake in the meal Ansill has come up with.

Each of six courses featuring tomatoes is paired with a Spanish wine - think oyster and tomato granita with brut, or pork belly “BLT” with rioja - and the whole dinner runs $55 per person. It’s a deal of a price, considering the richness of Ansill’s food and the quality of the wines involved. Check out the menu below and call for reservations (215-923-1313).
