Pumpkin Spice Latte Gets a Refresh at Little Baby’s

This time of year brings a surplus of “pumpkin spice” foods, desserts and drinks, almost to the point where it’s overkill and you never want to see the term again. (The frenzy over Starbucks’ pumpkin spice latte is one thing, but do we really need a pumpkin spice latte sugar scrub for the bath, Whole Foods?)
Jump back on the bandwagon, because two of our favorite Philly institutions have collaborated for a version of the fall flavor that we’re extra excited about. For First Friday (November 1), Little Baby’s Ice Cream will debut pumpkin spice latte donut ice cream, made with Federal Donuts goods. The donuts are swirled into coffee ice cream with vanilla and pumpkin spice glazes and coffee streusel crumbs - it’s the taste you get when enjoying a FedNuts pumpkin spice latte donut with a cup of fresh-brewed coffee.
The special ice cream is part of the “Federal FryDaze” celebration at the Little Baby’s and Pizza Brain headquarters on Frankford Avenue in Fishtown, and it will be available from noon through midnight. Also on offer will be the pizza collab that kicked off the series - the chili garlic chicken honey donut pie that sees Federal Donuts chicken and spice glaze baked into the pizza and crumbles of donuts scattered over the top. Even more reason to look forward to Friday.
