You know Buddy Valastro as the Cake Boss, but this week he opened a full-on restaurant at the Palazzo in Las Vegas (more on that tomorrow), proving that he knows a little something about the savory side of life, too. And even though Buddy V's has more Sunday "gravy," meatballs and eggplant parm than you can throw a wet noodle at, this display makes it impossible to forget that Valastro is a true cake master. As soon as you walk into the restaurant, the counter to the right is filled with real pastries from the bakery, but also this giant bowl of spaghetti, wine bottles, garlic bulbs and cans of tomatoes - everything you'd find in mamma's Italian kitchen - all made out of cake and fondant. It's pretty spectacular to see up close and personal, much better than trying to lick your TV screen.
