Papalote Previews Bistek Burrito for Typhoon Relief
By Tamara Palmer
November 13, 2013
Both locations of Papalote Mexican Grill (Fulton Street and 24th Street) will donate 10% of sales on November 17 to relief efforts that assist victims of Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines. The day doubles as a preview of a new occasional special, the bistek burrito. It's a south-of-the-border riff on a popular Filipino dish, with garlic fried rice, soy sauce and lemon-marinated skirt steak, onions and pico de gallo. The money raised will be donated to the Philippine Red Cross and National Alliance for Filipino Concerns. Papalote has also added another self-proclaimed "Mexi-Pino" special, the adobo burrito, to the permanent menu.
