- DNV Rooftop, the swanky lounge at the top of Donovan House in Thomas Circle, soft-opened Saturday and will have its grand opening mid-April. Until then, only beer, wine and cocktails will be offered on the rooftop from 7-11 PM Sunday; 4-11 PM Monday; 4 PM-midnight Tuesday to Thursday; 4 PM-1 AM Friday; and 7 PM-1 AM Saturday. After the grand opening, chef Jennifer Nguyen of Zentan will supply rooftop revelers with Asian tacos. The cocktail menu will also lean Asian, employing tea infusions, sugarcane, Vietnamese salted lemonades and Japanese highballs.
- Grillfish announced a new chef, Kerry Tate, and launched a new brunch and beverage menu this weekend. The new brunch offerings going forward include oysters Benedict, fish tacos and eggs, $1 oysters on the half shell, apple-stuffed French toast and shrimp and grits. Build-your-own Bloody Marys and five oyster shooters are other new brunch options. Tate also oversees the restaurant group’s kitchen at The Heights.
- Four well-regarded West End restaurants have teamed up to offer a progressive dinner they’re calling West End Wednesday. The walkable dinner experience starts at 6:30 PM at either Blue Duck Tavern, Marcel’s, Ris or Westend Bistro, depending on the month; both the restaurant lineup and special menu will change monthly. The April dates have already sold out, and May tickets - which cost $100 per person excluding tax and gratuity - will go on sale here at 10 AM April 2.
