Marcel’s chef-owner Robert Wiedmaier has been chosen to help craft a welcome menu for newly appointed US ambassador to the UK at an exclusive reception in London this spring. The chef offers Washingtonians a preview of the seven-course menu paired with Virginia wines Friday at 7 PM for $165, all-inclusive. Dishes will include pan-seared scallop with black fermented garlic and squid ink; roulade of crispy sweetbreads with petit gris, chanterelle mushrooms and red wine essence; and a plum tarragon tart with honey and cinnamon ice cream. City Tap House hosts a March Madness bracket party for Wednesday at 5 PM, when two special casks of Sly Fox Brewing Co.’s Odyssey Imperial IPA and Route 113 IPA will be available in 10-ounce pours, with the customer who kicks each keg receiving a Sly Fox Brewing Co. swag bag. Those who hand in brackets before midnight will be entered to win prizes like a TV or a $100 gift card (901 Ninth St. NW; 202-733-5333).

Chipotle Mexican Grill will debut the Chipotle Food and Agriculture Series - a three-part film series that looks to create an open dialog about the current state of our global food system - during DC’s upcoming Environmental Film Festival. The films regarding food will include a free screening of GMO OMG as well as screenings of American Meat and Growing Cities. The film festival begins Tuesday and runs through March 30.
