Ris Welcomes Former Vidalia Pastry Chef

Add this to the long list of restaurant shuffles this week: Beverly Bates has joined Ris Restaurant as executive pastry chef, where she will create desserts for the West End dining room and help chef/owner Ris Lacoste prepare for the upcoming opening of Ris at Union Market.

Bates won the RAMMY award for best pastry chef earlier this year for her work at chef Jeffrey Buben’s restaurants, Vidalia, Bistro Bis and Woodward Table. The CIA graduate has also worked under celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay in London, for Patisserie Poupon in Baltimore and for the now-closed Michel Richard Georgetown powerhouse, Citronelle. She will roll out her creations for Ris throughout winter (202-730-2500).
