Having conquered San Francisco (Wayfare Tavern) and Napa Valley (Rotisserie & Wine), Tyler Florence turns his attention to Mill Valley, where he and business partner Sammy Hagar have finally opened their long-awaited rustic American chophouse, El Paseo; the menu features gussied-up, locally sourced standards – think warm artichoke dip, roasted bone marrow and gargantuan dry-aged, grass-fed steaks – while the warren of rooms and patios in its historic brick-building setting have been outfitted with a multitude of curios, gas lanterns and fireplaces.
17 Throckmorton Ave., Mill Valley; 415-388-0741

The worst restaurant in Marin County!
Bad food, Bad service and simply forgettable.
One customer after another complaining, yelling and upset!
For the prices they are charging Tyler Florence should be in the kitchen cooking! They hire line cooks "not chefs" on craigslist posted ads.
This place will be gone in less than a year... Adios!

Beautiful place, great service food to die from.
Unfortunately an area that can use a good restaurant didn't get one.
I don't get it. How hard is it to cook a piece of meat.
We'll they can't

Tasty comfort food, not fancy but this is Mill Valley so I wasn't expecting "fancy", we good food, diverse wine list, solid [although new place jitters] service.

This place will be out of business in less than a year. Boring menu and prices that won't fly in Mill Valley. Sammy should have learned a lesson from the failure of "Maria Maria" by his fellow rocker Carlos Santana. At least Maria Maria had an innovative menu. But the prices were too high and now it's gone and Cantina (with mediocre food) is back and booming.

something tells me Tyler could have created that menu in all of about an hour - *yawn*

I am SOOO excited that Tyler and Sammy have teamed up for this blessed re-creation in Mill Valley! I have been a fan of Tyler's ever since I became unemployed, and started watching the Food Network daily...LOL! He has "rock star" status in my book... just as much as Sammy! When I found out Wayfare Tavern was his, I made reservations there for Valentine's Day, but unfortunately my valentine became ill, and I had to cancel. Now, I have the opportunity to take him to El Paseo for a birthday dinner, in April! Can't wait! Wishing you much success with this venture! P.S. Where's the dessert menu? :)
