For those who prefer their food trucks in bulk, rather than scattered around, two major gatherings are in the works for July.
First off, we have the gathering of food trucks at the debut of the Dodger Stadium Flea Market, held in the parking lot of the stadium on Elysian Park Avenue in Chavez Ravine, beginning Sunday, July 18, from 9 AM–4 PM. Committed participants so far include India Jones, Dosa, Slice Truck, Mandoline Grill, Canter’s Deli, Border Grill, Komodo, Fresh Fries, Crepe’n Around, Reggae Chicken, Cool Haus, Tropical Shave Ice and Del’s Lemonade (general admission with parking is $5).
And then, less than a week later on Saturday, July 24, it's the return of the LA Street Food Fest, which was so successful when it was held on a studio backlot in Downtown LA last February, it's moved to the Rose Bowl – the center field of the Rose Bowl, to be precise – where more than 50 vendors will be serving their dishes. Seriously, everone from The Grilled Cheese Truck to Cool Haus, from Comfort Truck to The Fox Pizza Bus and more will there (5:30–9 PM; $45 per person, includes a "sampling" and beverages; click here to buy tickets).
