"A group of my friends and I were sitting, enjoying our lunch when a family took a table in front of ours, giving us a full view of their behavior. My friends had decided this was a great place to have lunch; the mother of the family seated by us suddenly decided it was also a great place to change her baby’s diaper.
Paying no mind to the rest of the diners, and disregarding the place settings that clearly indicate the table is for the purpose of eating food, she changed the diaper. Once Junior had his new Pampers on, the family took their belongings, talked to the host and then were sat at another table where they proceeded to order lunch.
And our lunch? Well, the Caesar salad didn’t seem so appetizing after that."

The worse part about this story is that the family requested another table after the mom changed the diaper. I do not condone this action by any means but if they had continued their meal after the dirty deed it would disgust me but tell me that they probably just didn't know any better. The fact that they changed tables though tells me that they knew what they were doing was disgusting and wrong.

I work at a retail store that had a cafe in it. The store closed one of it's bathrooms to customers. Why?, you might ask. The first room of the ladies lounge had a sofa and a few chairs for people to rest in. The next room was for obvious reasons including a diaper changing table. One very hot summer day the air conditioning stopped due to a very long power failure. Out from under the couch marched a troup of maggots. Ater managment was notified it was found that several dirty diapers were thrown uder the couch, not in the trash containers provided for. Everything was cleaned and sanitized, and signs were put up. A few weeks later housekeping found another dirty diaper under the couch. In the next few weeks more were found. Then the bathroom was closed to customers and used for employees only. Oh yeah, the bathroom was next to the photo department on one side and the cafe on the other side.

I work at a retail establishment and yesterday I used the restroom and there was someone's dirty toilet paper on the floor! People can be pigs. Of course the worst one was when I saw someones feces in a pile on the floor. Totally grossed me out.

Thanks for the story Jeff. We thought it deserved a little more attention: http://www.zagat.com/buzz/customers-behaving-badly-a-server-fights-back

This story, and the reader follow-up (Jeff D) are the only two incredible and funny stories. The rest just seem, unfortunately, pedestrian. How's that for a statement on our state of things.

i love the diaper story...when i was in college, i worked at several restaurants. while laboring away at Chili's...a group of women came in, sat in an 8 top booth & when they were leaving, they left a dirty diaper under the booth. i found it only because i had to sweep all the broken crackers, sweet n low's, sugars, equals & crushed gold fish up before the table would be ready.
i was FUMING...and thankfully w/ so many restaurants hiring college kids...i had no fear of being fired. i grabbed the diaper & went out the front door where the women were still gabbing away. i began telling my fellow waiters/waitresses what i was going to do.
i waited until they went out to their mini van, loaded the baby and i opened the diaper, tapped on her driver's side window & proceeded to smear the diaper on her side window & windshield while conveying to them my honest thoughts about their actions.
it was very enjoyable...i only wish we i had this (and the look on those biatches faces) on video. after the majority of the baby poo was gone, i walked around the mini van & smacked it on each window while they stared in disbelief.
walking back towards the restaurant, there was a big crowd...the staff loved it, some customers said they got what they deserved, i cashed out, left & became a legend at that store. many people bought me many drinks that night & i was hired 2 days later by another chain.
worked all 4 years in restaurants & bars there...and everyone knew the diaper story.

I am in the business and I haven't had the pleasure of witnessing an all out diaper attack, but have witnessed some lack of kid and baby control, that makes me smile when I hear your story, well played sir, well played indeed.

LOW CLASS SELFISH PIGS!!!!! If I were sitting near by, I would have spoken up. Wait staff or Management definitely should have intervened. AND if I saw that, I would have mentioned it to management and walked out...if they allow this kind of unsanitary goings on...what must the kitchen be like?????

And these restaurants that let this happen would likely have a problem with someone bringing their well behaved dog inside!

I can totally relate to this story! The same thing happened to my sister and I, at a Chili's restaurant, in La Mesa, CA. We had to wait for a table, as it was pretty busy, aso we sat. As we waited, we saw this mother put the baby on the table and change the diaper before they left. Wouldn't you know it? The hostess seated us there! It totally ruined our meal! We asked for another table.

I think that all of the other patrons should have requested that their food be served in the bathrooms on the changing tables

The diners should have summoned their waiter and explained the situation to him or her and asked to be seated at another table, or to ask the mother to take her baby to the restroom to change her. There is no reason to tolerate such appalling behavior. And, where were the waiters and manager that they would allow this?

Wow you must be the superhero of the restaurant business with an arduous solution to every possible scenario.

How did the manager NOT say to that mother "Excuse me Madam? We have a restroom with a changing table." If I was present in that restaurant I would have said something...fer sure.

I would have said, "Excuse me, but there is a changing table in the ladies room". If she had ignored me, I would have gotten up to get the waitress, hostess, or manager.
