Soon to join the list of gone-but-not-forgotten Hollywood destinations like Chasen's, Perino's, Scandia and Ma Maison is Morton's, which recently announced that it will close at the end of the year. The space, home of Vanity Fair's legendary Oscar parties, will become the Soho House West Hollywood, the West Coast branch of the British private club that's already had great success with its New York location.
The funny thing about converting Morton's to a private club is that this Hollywood elite hangout was always just that – though your membership was never checked at the door.
