Atlanta Report: Ray's Redo, Tap and Kevin Rathbun Steak

Restaurant veteran Ray Schoenbaum has unveiled the multimillion-dollar renovation of Ray's on the River, his sultry seafood supper club on the banks of the Chattahoochee with new chef Tom McEachern (ex Horseradish Grill) putting a fresh spin on the massive midpriced menu; water features, a wood-clad wine wall, oversized banquettes and travertine floors are the interior highlights, while outside, landscaping and lighting enhance river views (6700 Powers Ferry Rd.; 770-955-1187).

The latest from restaurant wizard Bob Amick’s Concentrics group (ONE. midtown kitchen, TWO. urban licks, Trois, etc.), Tap is a multilevel gastropub serving modern bar fare with an impressive global beer selection; it's already mobbed by Midtowners (1180 Peachtree St. NE; 404-347-2220).

Kevin Rathbun’s Kansas City roots blossom at Kevin Rathbun Steak, the newest addition to his Inman Park empire (Rathbun’s, Krog Bar), where prime steaks sidle up to an array of spot-on sides and sauces, all served in a former factory space dolled up by the Johnson Studio (154 Krog St.; 404-524-5600).
