New to this year’s Survey was Naples, FL, where Artisans took the No. 1 slot for Food and Campiello Ristorante won for Most Popular. There were shake-ups in Arizona this year: Kai in the Sheraton Wild Horse Pass Resort & Spa earned the No. 1 slot for Food in the Phoenix/Scottsdale region, and in Tucson, Vivace replaced The Dish as the No. 1 for Food. Besides covering the best dining options in 45 U.S. destinations, it also underscores the nation's changing dining habits and trends. One of the more interesting: big-name restaurateurs are increasingly opening midpriced or even inexpensive spin-offs (Atlanta’s Holeman and Finch, Boston’s Alta Strada, Denver’s Osteria Marco, Minneapolis' Heidi's). Hopefully, those lower price points will bode well for these newcomers' success during these uncertain financial times.
