Two big-name chefs have descended on Miami Beach with splashy new openings:
Packed with super-sexy jet-setters, the dark and sophisticated Chinese stunner Hakkasan, situated in the Fontainebleau Miami Beach, marks the U.S. debut of famed British restaurateur Alan Yau; the pristine (and pricey) updated Cantonese dishes are served in dimly lit niches framed in lacquered wood and intricately carved screens (4441 Collins Ave.; 786-276-1388).
Continuing to broaden his BLT empire, chef Laurent Tourondel brings his culinary magic to the Magic City’s Betsy Hotel, where his opulent Ocean Drive steakhouse, BLT Steak, spills out onto the sidewalk; the decor is tropical, with loads of sand-colored accents, while the menu offers signature warm popovers, over-the-top beef and loads of fresh seafood at prices that might make even the well-heeled hiccup (1440 Ocean Dr.; 305-673-0044).
