It's been more than a decade since Laurent Quenioux closed 7th Street Bistro, his highly esteemed Downtown LA French, to become (among other things) executive chef for the Dodgers; the arrival of Bistro LQ (in the former Mimosa space) marks his return to casual fine dining, allowing him to show off his chops in dishes like sea urchin tapioca pudding and braised eel with chanterelle grits, all served at moderate prices in a clean, sun-washed space.
