Gaslight Brasserie du Coin, the latest high-profile eatery to land on the South End's Harrison Avenue, is scheduled to debut in mid-August and promises to be a brasserie in the grand tradition: big, bustling, casual and accessible, with retro-Euro sensibilities but some American twists too (560 Harrison Ave.).
On the heels of its stateside debut in Faneuil Hall, Wagamama, the overseas-based Asian noodle franchise, is opening a Cambridge branch in Harvard Square on August 13th (57 JFK St.).
An expansion in the other direction, from Cambridge to Boston, will happen this fall when Harvard Square cafe Z Square comes to Boston University (580 Commonwealth Ave.).
The folks behind Chestnut Hill’s Metropolitan Club are readying Met Bar & Grill, a gourmet burger bar set to open in the Natick Collection this September. Asian accents will grace both the decor and the menu – think bento boxes for condiments like kimchi and sticky soy sauce – though the sandwich selection will show more global influences (1245 Worcester St.).
Also coming to Natick in September is Finale, which is expanding its chocolaty empire to include a third outpost (1245 Worcester St.).
