Conundrum

Occupying the tiny, tucked-away space of Harvard Square's long-standing Iruna (56 JFK St., Cambridge), this debut venture from Eric Wernsing (ex Blackfin Chophouse) will still offer Spanish cuisine – as well as Italian, Asian and American dishes on its Eclectic menu; slated to open in early spring.

Good Deals and Other News

Lineage

Jeremy Sewall (ex Great Bay) comes home to Brookline with this New American bistro that just opened in the old Lucy's space (242 Harvard St., 617-232-0065). The name alludes to his family's longtime community presence (he's a descendant of Samuel Sewall, a judge in the Salem witchcraft trials) and the menu's ingredients, which will have similarly local roots. Look for more information on Lineage in the April ZagatWire.

Spire

This month, Gabriel Frasca departs Nine Zero Hotel's signature eatery for Nantucket: he and his significant other, chef Amanda Lydon (ex UpStairs on the Square), will be taking over the kitchen of Straight Wharf in late spring.

Turner Fisheries

The Copley Square seafooder kicked off prix fixe Sunday brunch service on February 26th. Offered from 11 AM to 3 PM, the $39 menu ($19 per child) includes a choice of two small plates, one main dish, one side and one dessert, plus one cocktail or glass of juice and a breakfast bread basket for the table.

Vox Populi

Nibble for next to nothing: a special Sunday menu of "Small Plates & Small Prices" features such tidbits as crispy frogs' legs, grilled stuffed squid and chickpea polenta fries, all priced at around $7.
