Nantucket's White Elephant continues its weekend Chef and Shop series this fall with visits by top toques from New York, Boston and New Orleans. Hotel guests staying Friday and Saturday nights will get rates starting at $175 per night, which includes a Friday evening wine-and-cheese reception (4 PM) and two tickets to the Saturday afternoon chef demonstration (3–4 PM; demos open to the public for $35 per person). Tips on where to shop and special pre-holiday deals cover the "shop" aspect of the weekend.
The hotel is booked for the October 26th–28th installment, but tickets for that Saturday's cooking demo by Alexandra Guarnaschelli (NYC's Butter) are available. November's lineup includes: Dan Silverman from NYC's Lever House (November 2–4); Geoff Gardner of Boston's Sel de la Terre (November 9–11); and Bob Iacovone from Cuvée in New Orleans
(November 16–18).
