Amid all of the excitement surrounding the Boston Red Sox's second World Series win in four years comes word that the team is looking to expand...its restaurant business around Fenway Park.
The Boston Herald is reporting that the owners of the Sox are "drawing up plans for a bar and grill inside Fenway, while eyeing other restaurant locations on streets around the ballpark." The bar and grill, according to a follow-up story in Nation's Restaurant News, will be located behind the center field wall of the historic stadium and will be called Bleacher Bar.
Further afield, the team is looking to place locally managed restaurants strategically around the stadium. According to the Herald, the team has "hired a brokerage firm to seek out operators interested in opening a restaurant in the old WBCN building on Boylston Street, now owned by the Sox," as well as in the site of the Town Taxi garage, which the team also owns.
